Well, the list has people I admire so I will definitely be tuning into one of TVs most important days (second to I believe the Superbowl).

So, which nominees stand out to me: the directorial mastermind-James Cameron and the very talented actor Meryl Streep.

James Cameron’s Avatar is amongst the nominees for the Best Picture award. I have yet to still see the blue people movie but the gorgeous British stud Sam Worthington and the illustrious creative vision of James Cameron has me intrigued and anxiously awaiting the DVD release (estimated to be April 2010).

As for the most talented actress (not just my opinion) Meryl Streep, she is nominated for the Lead Actress award for the foodie movie Julie & Julia. Meryl Streep was amazing and so believable and loveable as Julia Child.

Playing Julia Child’s husband, Paul Child, is the handsome New York- native Stanley Tucci. While he didn’t receive a nomination for his role in Julie & Julia he was able to garner attention for the Oscar nomination for his supporting role in The Lovely Bones. The movie saw limited release and it has yet to be released out on DVD. Besides the sex appeal of Stanley Tucci though the movie seems quite interesting — a murdered girl oversees her family from heaven. Why not? Maybe all of our families are overseeing us from a heaven filled with clouds. Right? Once we pass away we will follow the light, go down the tunnel and up the staircase to heaven and then we too will be looking down at our loved ones…and no! I do not believe in Santa…though I do wish it were true that a fat jolly old man would bring me presents every year….even a pack of coal…so i can bar-be-cue some yummyness. Woops…tangent

Anyways, the Bridget Jones Diary cutie Colin Firth is up against the Batman stud George Clooney and the handsome Shawshank Redemption star Morgan Freedman for Lead Actor award. Colin Firth is up for A Single Man, which according to IMDB.com is about a man who tries to get on with his day after his ‘partner’ dies. George Clooney’s nomination is for Up In The Air, where he plays someone who works as a human resource firing man whose job suddenly shifts from ‘frequent flying’ to ‘travelling not required’. The movie sounds interesting as we can all relate to the adjustment one would have to make after a routine task is suddenly shifted on its head. And Invictus has Morgan Freeman playing Nelson Mandela, the charismatic African president…I know I should want to see this as it would make me smarter and more knowledgeable but I think this is the kind of movie I would only watch if someone else paid for my ticket and bought me some candy and water to avoid the chance of me yawning. Just saying.

The esteemed Queen actress Helen Mirren and Miss Congeniality Sandra Bullock are also nominated alongside Meryl Streep for the Actress Award. Helen Mirren is nominated for The Last Station, which is a movie about a wealthy man’s dedication to living life void of materialism. And Sandra Bullock is up for The Blind Side…football…yawn at first….ummm, but the homeless and traumatized nature of the boy…he channels that into football…aww…but I feel like I already know what the movie is going to make me do…just…awww. Hmm…I’ll wait for it to be on cable TV. Tim McGraw is featured as well…but still…I’ll wait.

Finally the animated film Up is also nominated for an Oscar. I really enjoyed the cute cartoon flick and thus am happy to see it nominated.

As for the Foreign movie category, sadly, no Bollywood.

Lets take this new year and particularly this coming decade, to truly love your neighbor. Not sexually…but of course…through respect…particularly pay homage to the classic golden rule…Do on to others as thy would have done on to you….and if you could see yourself hurting yourself thus see yourself hurting others…LOVE YOURSELF! I know sometimes its hard…like you LOVE yourself but you do not love the state your in…it will get better….and it seems like to you impossible and hearing it from someone else, feels like they don’t know what they are talking about. But seriously, think of whats going on in the east. Like, that is a situation. Anyways, this is making me emotional…and I hope to God, we all learn to live in a state of co-dependence, mutual respect as a planet.

Happy 2010. peace.

Humpday, the 2009 limited release indie-ish movie had some really attractive sexy real people with a premise of the story being slightly bizarre (making a erotic art film of two straight men having sex) but the actual acting and the sequence of events, and how the actors portrayed their roles…unbelievably real.

I could see myself behaving and acting in those ways. For instance, the wife’s reaction of her husband was realistic in all the scenes–especially when she finds out the whole truth about this project of his…. Even all the smoke out sessions, etc seemed to be very like you were watching it being carried out in real-life not recreated on a moviescreen–in other words, this movie really felt like a reality TV show…but even some of those shows feel more scripted.

The two males are very sexy in a ‘I wish they were my husband, if i was a girl, i’d be in love with these cuties’ kind of way. The husband Ben (Mark Duplass) is very obviously sexy. But, the blond haired bearded stud Andrew (Joshua Leonard), grows on you, and you really get an appreciation for men with that look–in fact, by the end I couldn’t decide who I would want more as my man.

The girls of course in the movie were also gorgeous and real. And, the acting, like I previously mentioned, very real. I can’t say it was a dramatic movie…like it did not feel like it was this big dramatic art house experience…it felt like an indie movie and really, just felt like I was observing first hand some real people during this one ’situation’; the situation being, a husband thinking its okay for him to make a homoerotic but really bromance-y porno for a amateur art nudity festival.

The part where they try to carryout their video attempt was both alluring for me and like hmmm…thought provoking. I was wondering if that’s all that is missing in my life–bromance…IE. I have never been able to have a great relationship but one built on friendship, with men. Has this Void made me the mess I am? Like, I was always attracted to men; so yes, the wiring is Gay, and yes, the reason I never got close to a guy was because I was too insecure and probably gave off nervous energy and thus, made a straight man feel awkward around me. So, yea, very thought provoking for this messed up homo.

Anyways, the movie…Amazing, sexy, and real–Humpday was an excellent movie.

Ps…Joshua Leonard…has got to be the sexiest bearded blond haired, blue eyed man ever. He was so sexy. Wow.

I am, since all the franchises–New York, New Jersey, Atlanta and Orange County–have all been very fun to watch and have brought different feeling from the other.

But, back to the replacement/firing of Nene and Kim news, Orange County was proof that the wives can be replaced and the show continues. Even so, to me Kim and Nene, were like the Vickie or Jeanna–backbones of the show…I was very sad to see Jeanna leave since her story line was so interesting, lets see how that works out…last two episodes have been okay but the episodes prior to Jeanna’s departure were much more fun to watch because not only was Jeanna entertaining to watch but her children and her (ex)husband had entertaining story-lines/lives. So, who knows, if the Orange County picks up, then the Atlanta franchise should do fine.

For anyone who has lost someone, the 7Th episode of Ugly Betty can be very nerve-striking. The episode was not as good as the past episodes but still was good entertainment.

“Level (7) with me” follows Daniel Meed (Eric Mabius)’s grieving process dealing with his dead wife. Even Betty’s (America Ferrera) memory of her mom is touched on.

The individual who heads the cult-like organization Daniel sees for support with Molly’s death turns out to be more interested in using Daniel’s status to further his organizations publicity. As such, he dopes Daniel to allow him to communicate with his dead wife. The man even almost has Betty fooled when he indicates to her that she hates herself for forgetting her mother’s memory. For a moment, this almost psychic experience throws of Betty on her mission to save Daniel from the cult. You know what would throw me off, the sexy man that Betty is ushered out by–the usher, a random uncredited cutie, Colin, in the episode is below…he’s so sexy!

Ultimately, though Betty is successful talking to Daniel, by posing as his dead wife while Daniel is hallucinating. She converses with Daniel on the behalf of his dead wife and tells him to move on by saying Goodbye to a loved one.

How is it easy to relate to?

Well, while I do not think one should completely forget their loved ones and I understand that the grieving process is personal to everyone, it is important to not make one’s own situation and health deteriorate in grieving. Essentially, one needs to question would their loved one appreciate them going insane or ill over their death. Of course not! This episode reminds us all that death and loss is something everyone experiences.

When rescuing Daniel, Betty’s Coworker and show-regular Amanda and his mother Claire accidentally walk into a situation where a grieving group joins. In an effort to not stick out like a sore thumb and be caught in the wrong place, they Amanda and Claire pretend they are actually their for some grief group-therapy. Hence, Amanda talks about loosing her mother, who was murdered by Claire. Amanda’s side is shown when she forgives Claire but says she wished she had known her mother before her demise.

While Claire is working to find her son (secretly at this point), Wilhelmina’s daughter tries to extort money from her own mother. The suspense-filled episode continued with Wilhelmina (Vanessa William)’s attempt at dealing with her daughter Nico’s situation; the usually conniving Vanessa’s conniving brood is actually misleading her mother into giving her and her ‘boyfriend’ money by pretending like she has murdered and now is being blackmailed. Mark, Wilhelmina’s gay assistant catches Wilhelmina’s daughter talking about the extortion plans to the blackmailer and tries to dissuade Wilhelmina from helping Nico (her daughter). While Wilhelmina’s personality is normally bitchy and heartless, she still believes more in her daughter and gives her the benefit of the doubt, but eventually discovers her brood is just as conniving as she is. Fortunately, the daughter is not lucky enough to take advantage of Wilhelmina.

This was a fun episode with a lot of funny lines. Some include:

“Prada help me!” is what hysterical Mark says when disposing Wilhelmina’s fashion-faux-pas casual wear. Its even more funny when Mark has an orgasmic experience with a pair of Wilhelmina’s comfort-first, fashion-second shoes: he jokes “I don’t wanna know this,” attesting to George Orwell’s 1984 law, ignorance is bliss…Mark should have remained fashion forward even if it may be painful to walk in stilettos, without much thought of the alternative…comfy crocks.

It also makes me laugh when Amanda asks for “spare” bail money as if its like a casual can I have a quarter to make a phone call. “um, uh, could either of you spare some bail money”. lol

Lastly, its also cute when Wilhelmina gloats that her safe deposit locker’s combination is her body measurements: 36 – 24 – 36 ; fierce!

The episode kept me interested but it wasn’t the funnest episode.

Season fours episode 8, entitled Bahamas Triangle is about several triangles, including ‘Betty, Matt, Amanda’, ‘Hilda, Archie, Bobby’ and you could say ‘Conner, Wilhelmina, and Wilhelmina’s career.

The episode features the beautiful Shakira and takes place in the Bahamas, and a lot of the cast even went to the Bahamas, including the love triangles above, and Marc, and of course Conner ’showed’ up in the Bahamas, clearly having staged his death.

This episode had a lot of sex, their was a rotating love scene, between Amanda and Daniel, who finally appreciates her for her intelligence, Matt and Betty, Conner and Wilhelmina, even the fellow gay Marc gets it on with a guy named Troy (who by the way is Amanda’s brother in real life–Becki Newton’s brother Matt Newton). Hilda gets it on back in Queens, with Bobby (Andy Rodriguez).

Unfourtunately, the sexy Conner, gets caught by the FBI, and refuses Wilhelmina to help him, because he doesn’t want her career to suffer as she has done so much for the company. Of course, we find out in the next episode, Conner is much smarter with the whole ‘give me up for your job’ scheme.

Another new thing was the bonding between Mark and Daniel, and in the end Mark was Daniel’s new assistant.

My desire to move to New York develops with Gossip Girl and even pro-New York music like Alicia Keys’ collaboration with Jay Z, so speaking of New York, Episode 9 of Ugly Betty’s 4Th season starts with Ignacio making dinner preparations and causing quite a stink; Hilda excuses ‘eww’ and opens the window, and exclaims: “eww, it smells worse out there!”. Still, its part of the experience of living in the city or….Queens? Well, it’s quite okay I’m okay with living in Queens…a Queen living in Astoria? my dream. lol

This episode also features a pregnancy scare. Betty’s suspicion of her pregnancy begins when the sweet, sexy man below asks her if she wants a seat, since he thinks she is pregnant.

The pregnancy test purchase at the store segment is hilarious. Apparently, Hilda feels a little ‘pregnant’ too and decides to shop for a pregnancy test at the same time as Betty. Their father happens to be at the store too looking for dinner items, and the daughters panic that he is there as well as the other hermana. It is funniest, when they both hide at the aisle ends and behind them are a whole shelf-filled of pregnancy tests that can be visible from the anti-shop-lifting mirrors.

The pregnancy funnies do not end here; a ‘baby in the oven’ analogy is further used when both Betty and Hilda think they are positive and are trying to have a conversation without their father knowing. Hilda asks did you get ‘burned’. The real funny part comes when not knowing the secret, Ignacio says to Hilda ‘you got burned – that’s what happens when you do not wear a mitt’…this could be interpreted with the analogy as the oven mitt could be analogised as being the condom. How clever- this is what makes this show so witty and fun!

In addition to this, so much other stories unfold….One, Hilda breaks up with Archie when she realises he’s not the one and that Bobby may be the man for her. Second, Matt reveals to Betty, after it is determined that Betty is not actually pregnant, he wouldn’t have minded the ‘pregnancy test’ to have been positive and saw a future together–Betty also agrees.

Third, and yummiest of all, Wilhelmina’s sexy love Conner is back and looks absolutely gorgeous and sexy during the couple’s intimate inmate visitation session. And they successfully scheme to get Wilhelmina reinstated into Mead.

Meanwhile, Claire Meade also has her own child bearing news to deal with; she visits South Dakota, to meet her son. Amanda is sweet again and encourages Claire to go through with the visit, but to dress-down so she doesn’t stick out: “Less ‘money’, more ‘food stamp’- let’s get you a ‘make-under’”. In South Dakota , she has an great experience meeting her love child, who is absolutely sweet…besides leaving a tip she leaves a letter with her full name and address leading her love child deep in thought.

The stud playing Tyler is Neal Bledsoe; he was also on Gossip Girl…exchanged a sexy gay kiss with Chuck Bass: Here’s the gay kiss…Yum!

Speaking of cute gays…

A funny quote made by Mark to his new boss Daniel deserves highlighting: “If it wasn’t for my tiny pores, my tiny brain would have seeped out long ago” said Mark. Again, the lovely wit of the Ugly Betty writers.

Since this was a Christmas episode, lets officially commence Christmas celebrations — Merry Christmas!

Witty, much!….Please Ugly Betty producers…season 5 please!

As such, I was in the Christmas spirit and decided to watch Merry Madagascar, which is a sequel to the animated Madagascar series.

Merry Madagascar basically is about how Santa is originally misunderstood and so the island of Madagascar and its lemur inhabitants are showered with black stones instead of gifts…yes, yes coal or black stone is what u get (or black socks) if your naughty…so the Madagascar lemurs were naughty? Idol worship? Stoned? What…is there a religious interpretation to this movie. Can Santa represent the Christian faith and failure to follow Christian laws and traditions will find you in the same predicament as the People of Lut, who received a shower of stones for sodomy? anti-homo message? is their a message? am i reading too much. well, welcome to how my brain works.

Anyhow, as always I quite enjoyed Merry Madagascar; like the other two installments of the lion, zebra, hippo, and giraffe’s adventures, the expressions and intonations and voice-over skills of the lead actors-Ben Stiller (Alex the Lion), Chris Rock (Marty the Zebra), Jada Pinkett-Smith (Gloria the Hippo), and David Schwimmer (Melman the Giraffe)- and the respective expertise of the production/animation crew of this franchise, was amazing.

Of late these animated masterpieces from various production houses have been proven to be so wonderfully directed and written, one can appreciate the movies enough to believe the millions of dollars that are shared throughout the movie industry are warranted.

I just cannot imagine how the writers first of translate their vision in such a way that the animation houses can illustrate and provide us with an amazing trip of a movie.

The movie also features the infamous penguins. Its a south pole-rs vs north pole-rs argument–penguins of the south, hate that the Santa moved to the reindeer’s home in the north…i love it!

Canada was first on the list of Santa deliveries! But, the cute babies didn’t make it back home to New York!

The movie will teach kids that sometimes you have to choose to do whats right for a larger group and forgo for the time being one’s own happiness. Even so, you can be happy in the state you are. Until your in the Empire State, New York state, or whatever state you wish you are in–live every second like your not even going to make it to New York; in other words, live it to the last drop. Would choosing to lead a straight life so my family’s shame is kept in tact? No, not really I am not so nice. But, I keep the faith that some how God will find away to allow me to balance both my desires, my parents wishes, and societal expectations. Anyways, TMI.

The movie was time well wasted!

Also this movie allowed me to have some self-discovery…How so? Well, after seeing the silhouette of a guy having his stomach devoured viciously and simultaneously seeing a very suggestive sex scene, I had to see if it was rated R on ‘Wikipedia’(quotes since the popular website was referenced in the movie); I discovered the movie was rated R and I also came across a quote by Fox’s co-star Amanda Seyfried (role: Needy).

The quote by Seyfried discusses the kiss the two female leads had; she mentioned in an interview “It is just weird. It is a woman. With a woman’s smell — soft and floraly — and maybe the pheromones are different. Something about it felt uncomfortable for me.” She put her attraction to women so well–that is exactly how I have felt when I had been trying to find any validation that I am not gay.

So, not only does the movie give me enough scare and a great soundtrack (featuring one of my all time favorite tracks: Black Kids – I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance with You), the movie also indirectly provided me a quote that says in words how I feel about women; they are pretty and beautiful–but I am not sexually attracted to them.

Title of the movie is Jennifer’s Body could be seen as a double entendre for my tranny side…Well, having Jennifer’s body would mean I am a girl and my homosexuality would not exist and life would be easier for the demonic homosexual desires. For now, at least, I can hope her body has laid to rest and doesn’t house another demon for a sequel, because I probably would not watch it.

20 years ago, on this very day, 14 women were killed at a college in Montreal, purely due to discrimination of their gender.

I am glad to see that Canada is officially remembering these ladies of the unfortunate hate crime, on this day, 20 years ago. Hopefully this kind of thing will never happen again, as gender inequality or hate crimes against someone simply due to their gender is unacceptable.

What caused the killer to commit the hate crime 20 years ago? Was having female classmates who may be smarter than the men in the class simply too much for this man? I hope this sentiment is no longer present.

Sadly, after reading some YouTube comments on Oprah and other powerful women, that are not simply ‘I Hate “insert name”‘ These comments are actually hated on the fact that women in power are somehow to blame or to be hated because they, I quote the hater’s sentiments… ‘act like they are better’. They do not act like they are better…maybe, its simply the fact that they are more successful then the commenting individuals.

Insecure bitches!

While I do not encourage either gender to play itself as dominant, I think its very appropriate and fitting for women to expect that they are treated equally and with respect. Men who feel ‘violated’ by women in power are poor excuses of men.

Aside from one position, I personally have been blessed with working for female bosses, and I have always seen them as deserving of their status and position.

As a gay man, I can feel how annoying and pointless it is to be discriminated against just because the insecure straight men that think they are the one and only dominant force in society. Please note, I said just…and I mean only the straight men who are insecure…NOT ALL!

A real straight secure man is one that we definitely find sexy and alluring. However, when you picture this man being insecure because he sees a successful women on TV (Oprah) or sees an effeminate man sitting in front of him on the subway, makes you think of that straight man as not very ’secure and confident’ like we have traditionally been told men should behave.

Even so, success and acceptance that women have earned over time and the success and acceptance non-whites have earned over time, should allow the gay community to be confident in that eventually we can all live in a peaceful society that does not care about what is in between our legs, the colour of our skin, or what gender our lover in our beds may be.
